PAK vs NZ: Pakistan Squad Arrives in Christchurch For New Zealand Series

The Pakistani team led by skipper Babar Azam have landed in Christchurch for upcoming bilateral series against New Zealand starting December 18

Babar Azam led Pakistan cricket team, on Tuesday arrived in Christchurch for a month-long tour of New Zealand. They all have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine period as per Covid-19 protocol before entering the fields.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) posted a few images of their players and support staff after they had landed Down Under. The likes of young pacer Naseem Shah, Test batting specialist Azhar Ali, and, batting coach Younis Khan was clicked at the Christchurch airport. PCB went on to caption the image as ‘Pakistan team and Pakistan Shaheens reach Christchurch’.

Pakistan is scheduled to play three T20 Internationals on December 18, 20, and 22. These T20I matches will be played at Eden Park, Auckland, Seddon Park, Hamilton, and, Napier’s McLean Park respectively. The ICC World Test Championship fixtures will be held in Mount Maunganui and Christchurch on December 26-30 and January 3-7, respectively.

Fakhar Zaman was ruled out of the tour after as he had few symptoms of Covid-19. PCB said that the decision to withdraw Fakhar from the tour was made keeping the health of the rest of the squad members in mind.
