Washington Freedom beat San Francisco Unicorns by 96 runs to lift the MLC title.
The Major League Cricket (MLC) is a USA-based T20 franchise tournament that began in 2023. The inaugural season saw six teams compete, with MI New York emerging as the champions.
Following the success of the first season, Major League Cricket returns for its second edition in 2024, maintaining the same number of participating teams.
The six teams competing in the tournament are the Texas Super Kings, MI New York, Los Angeles Knight Riders, Seattle Orcas, Washington Freedom, and San Francisco Unicorns.
Several of these teams have connections to successful IPL franchises. The Texas Super Kings are affiliated with the Chennai Super Kings, MI New York with the Mumbai Indians, Los Angeles Knight Riders with the Kolkata Knight Riders, and Seattle Orcas with the Delhi Capitals.
The second season of Major League Cricket will commence on July 6, with the final scheduled for July 28. This season, the entire tournament will be hosted at two venues: Morrisville and Grand Prairie.
