Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has officially been ruled out of the second Test match against England scheduled to be held in Multan due to a quad injury to his right leg.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Sunday, December 4 announced that the pacer will not bowl in the remainder of the Test following the results of the MRI scan.
Rauf, who made his Test debut in the ongoing series opener in Rawalpindi bowled 13 overs in the first innings, where he picked the wicket of English opener Zak Crawley.
With the unavailability of their premier pacer Shahen Shah Afridi, Rauf’s injury has opened the doors for Mohammad Wasim Jr, who is yet to make a debut for Pakistan in red-ball cricket.
As for the series, England have taken a 1-0 lead following their 73-runs victory over hosts in the first Test match played in Rawalpindi. The hosts need to win their forthcoming Test in Multan to keep the series alive.
