In the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, the defending champions Mumbai Indians are currently leading the points table. The team is also considered to be a strong contender to win the tournament this year.
Meanwhile, a piece of bad news is coming for MI fans, the team’s regular captain Rohit Sharma may be ruled out of the ongoing tournament (IPL-2020) due to a knee injury.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the tour of Australia on Monday and Rohit Sharma’s name was not included in the squad of all three formats.
After the team’s announcement, the chief selector stated that Rohit Sharma’s injury is quite serious. Rohit’s absence from the squad selected for Australia tour means that he is not fit at the moment.
BCCI selectors have said that the medical team of the Board of Control for Cricket in India is keeping an eye on Rohit Sharma’s injury. If he recovers from injury in time, he can be included in the team. However, it is not yet known whether he will travel with the team on the tour of Australia.
