IND vs ENG: Gautam Gambhir Punishes Yashasvi Jaiswal for Dropping Four Catches in Leeds Test

India drop Yashasvi Jaiswal from slips after fielding errors; Sai Sudharsan replaces him ahead of Edgbaston Test

India had a poor outing in the first Test at Headingley, and one of the big reasons was their poor fielding. Among the players who dropped catches, Yashasvi Jaiswal was the most talked about.

The young opener dropped four catches, which helped England batters to stay longer and hurt India in the match.

Jaiswal Moved Out of Slips During Practice

Now, it looks like Jaiswal has been removed from the slip cordon. In pictures from Team India’s recent practice session, he was seen fielding at silly point instead of slips. Sai Sudharsan took his place in the slip cordon.

Jaiswal’s Batting Was Top Class

While there were issues with his fielding, Jaiswal’s batting was solid. In the first innings, he scored a brilliant 101 runs off 158 balls and gave India a strong start. It was his first time batting in English conditions, and he handled it very well.

With the second Test to be played at Edgbaston from July 2, India, under new captain Shubman Gill, will aim to bounce back in the series. To challenge England, India needs to improve in all departments, especially fielding.
