With this performance, Shubman Gill became only the second Indian after Sunil Gavaskar (1971) to score a double century and a century in the same Test match.
His combined 430 runs in the match is now the most by an Indian in a single Test. Gill also joined Virat Kohli and Sunil Gavaskar as Indian captains to score centuries in both innings of a Test match.
Moreover, Gill became the second player in history, after Kohli, to score three centuries in his first two Tests as captain.
