IND vs ENG: ‘Sack Gautam Gambhir!’ Fans Explode After India’s Headingley Disaster
India suffer a heavy defeat in the first Test vs England at Headingley; fans slam head coach Gautam Gambhir as poor tactics and dropped catches haunt the team.

India started their five-match Test series in the worst possible way, losing the opening game to England at Headingley by five wickets.
Chasing a big target of 371 runs, the English batters made it look easy, thanks to Ben Duckett’s brilliant knock of 149.
Fans Blame Gautam Gambhir After Another Defeat
Despite scoring 471 in the first innings and 364 in the second, India failed to defend the target. Their bowlers couldn’t pick wickets when it mattered the most, and the fielders dropped several catches, which proved costly.
After the match, fans on social media were quick to blame new head coach Gautam Gambhir. Many even started trending “Sack Gautam Gambhir” on X (formerly Twitter), calling out his poor planning and team strategy.
India’s Struggle Continues Under Gambhir’s Coaching
This was India’s third Test series loss in a row under Gambhir’s watch. Before this, India lost to New Zealand and then to Australia. Fans believe the team lacks clear tactics, and poor fielding and bowling choices are hurting the side.
Even though Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets in the first innings, the bowling unit failed to deliver in the second. England chased down the target with ease as India’s bowlers looked tired and out of ideas.
This was also Shubman Gill’s first match as India’s Test captain. He scored a superb 147 in the first innings, but the team’s performance as a whole was not enough to secure a win.
