In a significant development, Delhi Capitals have opted to drop Prithvi Shaw from their squad after a run of underwhelming performances. The team has now turned to English all-rounder Phil Salt to open the innings with captain David Warner.
Shaw’s performances have been nothing short of a disaster for Delhi Capitals this season. With just 47 runs in six matches, he has failed to make a significant contribution with the bat, averaging just 7.83 and with a highest score of just 15.
Shaw may have been left out of the Delhi Capitals squad, but that hasn’t shaken the team’s faith in his talent. During a toss in the ongoing matches between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Warner expressed his confidence in Shaw’s abilities and stated that they are backing him to make a strong comeback in the tournament.
“Look, we know he is a very very good player. He is going to work his backside off to get back into the team, we know it. He is very hungry and determined. I have no doubt, he will make his way back in,” Warner told Ian Bishop at the toss.
