IND vs ENG: Akash Deep Claims Maiden Test Five-Fer, Takes 10 Wickets as India Crush England by 336 Runs
Akash Deep takes 10 wickets in Edgbaston Test as India beat England by 336 runs; bags maiden five-wicket haul.

India’s pace attack had a new hero at Edgbaston, as Akash Deep delivered a stunning performance in the 2nd Test against England, helping India win by a massive 336 runs.
Akash Deep, who came in as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah, grabbed the chance with both hands.
Dream Match for Akash Deep
Playing his first Test in England, the Bengal pacer picked up 4 wickets for 88 runs in the first innings. But it was in the second innings where he truly made his mark.
He tore through the English batting line-up with a maiden five-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 6 for 99. This gave him a match haul of 10 wickets a massive achievement for a young fast bowler on English soil.
He ended England’s hopes by taking the final wicket, removing Brydon Carse. Carse tried to slog a short ball, only to slice it high into the air. Captain Shubman Gill safely held the catch at cover.
One of the few English players who put up a fight was Jamie Smith, who hit two consecutive sixes off Akash Deep. But the bowler had the last laugh.
He trapped Smith with a clever off-cutter, forcing a false shot that went straight to deep backward square.
With this performance, Akash Deep has not just filled Bumrah’s shoes for the match — he’s also made a strong case for being a regular in the squad.
