
Punjab Kings (PBKS), on Wednesday, April 5, announced all-rounder Gurnoor Singh Brar as a replacement for the injured Raj Angad Bawa for the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“Punjab Kings (PBKS) have signed Gurnoor Sing Brar for INR 20 lakhs as a replacement for injured Raj Angad Bawa for the IPL 2023 season,” a media release from IPL read.
Bawa, who was a part of Yash Dhull-led India U19 team in the World Cup last year in the West Indies, failed to recover from a shoulder injury, which saw him ruled out for the entire season.
Who is Gurnoor Singh Brar?
Gurnoor is a left-handed batter, who made his first-class debut for Punjab in a Ranji Trophy match against Railways in Delhi last year.
The Southpaw has scored 107 runs in five first-class appearances at an average of 26.75 and a strike rate of 120.22 with a top score of 64. He also has seven first-class wickets to his name with a four-wicket haul to his name.
Punjab Kings started their IPL 2023 campaign on a victorious note, swatting aside Kolkata Knight Riders by seven runs in a rain-curtailed affair in Mohali. They are set to face Rajasthan Royals in their second match on April 5 at Guwahati.
