Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced Ryan ten Doeschate as their new fielding coach for the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Cricbuzz reported.
The South African born cricketer will be replacing James Foster in the role, who has now been promoted as an assistant coach of the two-time IPL champions.ย
Earlier in August, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) appointed the most successful coach of domestic teams in India, Chandrakant Pandit as the franchise’s new head coach for the upcoming IPL season.
Pandit replaced Brendon McCullum to take up the role. The New Zealand legend left the coaching duties after being appointed as the head coach of the England Test side.
Mini-Auction Slated to Take Place in December
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to conduct a mini player auction ahead of the start of the new season in 2023.
The 2023 IPL auction is set to be held on December 16 in Bengaluru. Also, the cash-rich league is set to return to the traditional home and away format from next season.
The ten IPL franchises have been asked to submit their list of retained players by November 15. Also, the salary cap for each team is likely to be increased from Rs 90 to Rs 95 crore for the next season.
