The first qualifier of the 13th edition of Indian Premier League was played between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and Delhi capitals in which Rohit Sharma and Co won the match by 57 runs and booked a spot in finals. However, a piece of bad news is coming for Mumbai Indians and fans as their main bowler Trent Boult has been injured during the match. He is suffering from a groin injury.
This injury didn’t allow him to bowl all the four overs. So he bowled only two overs and pushed Delhi to the back foot with two wickets in the very first over. After two overs, he did not appear on the field. He conceded only 9 runs in two overs and took two wickets.
Boult has been a crucial part of the Mumbai Indians. He has bowled deadly for the team throughout the tournament. In such a situation, his absence in the next match might affect the team’s performance.
“He Will be on The Park on The 10th”: Rohit Sharma
However, Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma hoped that the New Zealand fast bowler would play in the final on 10 November.
” I have not seen Trent yet but he looks okay. It is a big game coming up but we just wanted him to be okay for the next game. He looks okay. I am sure he will be on the park on the 10th”, said Rohit Sharma in the post-match presentation.
In the match played in Dubai, Mumbai lost the toss and batting first gave a target of 201 runs. In response, Delhi Capitals could score only 143 runs after losing 8 wickets. Marcus Stoinis smashed 65 off 46 balls for Delhi Capitals.
