In the 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians (MI) have returned to the winning track, defeating Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 48 runs. This is Mumbai’s second win in 4 matches in the tournament, due to which MI has reached the top in the points table (based on Net Run Rate).

Bumrah Spoiled The KXIP Start
Mayank Agarwal gave Kings XI Punjab a perfect momentum to chase a big target, but the team came under pressure after two batsmen returned to the pavilion in the 5th and 6th overs.
Bumrah, who came to bowl in the 5th over, bowled Mayank Agarwal. He scored 25 runs in 18 balls with the help of 3 fours. After this, Krunal Pandya bowled Karun Nair in the sixth over for a duck. Punjab’s score was 39 for two at the end of 6 over.
KL Rahul and Pooran Back to Pavilion
The charismatic in-form KL Rahul was expected to take the team to the fore, but young spinner Rahul Chahar made the Punjab skipper clean bowled. KL Rahul returned back to the pavilion on 17 runs off 19 balls. However, Nicholas Pooran took responsibility. He took the team beyond 100 runs with 3 fours and 2 sixes, but he was caught in the hands of wicketkeeper Quinton de Cock on Pattinson’s ball. He scored 44 runs in 27 balls.
Bumrah, Pattinson and Chahar Dominance
Rahul Chahar dismissed Glenn Maxwell (11 runs), while James Neesham (7 runs) was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah which brought the dominance of Mumbai in the match. All the hopes are ended with Sarfraz Khan’s (7 runs) dismissal. Krishnappa Gautam made 22 runs in 13 balls in the last. For Mumbai, Jasprit Bumrah, James Pattinson and Rahul Chahar took two wickets each, while Trent Boult and Krunal Pandya got one wicket each.
The Thrill of Mumbai Indians Innings
