IPL 2020: RCB Do Not Have Enough Firepower To Lift The Title Reckons Michael Vaughan

Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has qualified for the playoffs in the 13th edition of Indian Premier League even after a six-wicket defeat against Delhi Capitals on Monday. They became the third team to reach the playoffs this season and did just that, beating KKR on the basis of net run rate.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is all set to play in the playoffs, but before that, former England cricket team captain Michael Vaughan has given a tough statement regarding Virat Kohli’s side.

Michael Vaughan feels that Virat Kohli’s side does not have enough strength to win three knockout matches from here and win the IPL 2020 title. RCB has not won the IPL title even once and it is looking for the title win for the first time. In the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, RCB played good cricket in the first half and that is why they made it to the top four.

“Can the RCB team win it this year? I’ve said that from the beginning, I don’t think they’ve got enough collectively to win it,” Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.

“Look anything is possible particularly in 2020, the world’s been turned upside down so who knows what’s gonna happen. Virat Kohli might bat left-handed and win them the game (in a gest) but it’s a tall order,” he further added.

RCB Have Got no Other Options But to Play Aggressive Cricket: Michael Vaughan

Michael Vaughan, at the same time, feels that RCB line-up is lacking experienced players who can perform under pressure from back to back three knockout matches and lift the cup.

“I look at teams and individuals and see are there enough individuals in the RCB team full of confidence to play in the pressure that they would be under… I guess the one thing in RCB’s favour is that they’ve got no other options but to play hard and aggressive cricket,” Vaughan said.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has won 7 matches this season in 14 league games while they have lost in as many matches. RCB qualified on the basis of a superior net run rate compared to fourth-placed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who will now learn their fate on Tuesday after the match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
