Perth Scorchers have signed English duo Adam Lyth and Stephen Eskinazi ahead of Big Bash League 2022-23 season after Phil Salt, Laurie Evans and Mitchell Marsh ruled out of the competition.
Scorchers have also signed Western Australian left-arm wrist spinner Hamish McKenzie to finalise their squad ahead of starting their title defence against Sydney Sixers next Saturday.
Lyth, like fellow Scorchers signings Faf du Plessis and Tymal Mills, is only available for the first half of the tournament. Meanwhile, Eskinazi is available for the entire BBL season.
While Faf du Plessis will head to the SA20 league in January, Adam Lyth and Mills have both signed for Desert Vipers in the new ILT20 in the UAE, also to be played in January.
The 12th edition of the Big Bash League is set to begin on December 13, 2022, with the final being scheduled for February 4, 2023. The tournament opener will be played between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars at the Manuka Oval.
