

The Pakistan cricket team arrived in Hyderabad for their participation in the ICC World Cup 2023 on Wednesday, September 27. They received a grand welcome at Hyderabad airport as a huge crowd erupted to catch a glimpse of the Pakistan cricketers.
However, the former Pakistan cricketer Mushtaq Ahmed made a controversial religious statement on a live TV show in Pakistan, suggesting that due to the predominantly Muslim population in Hyderabad, Pakistan would enjoy huge support in the ICC World Cup 2023.

Meanwhile, upon their arrival in India, Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam, pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi, and wicket-keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan each took to their social media accounts to express their gratitude for the warm welcome they received in Hyderabad.


Pakistan is set to play a pair of warm-up matches against New Zealand and the Netherlands before commencing their World Cup 2023 campaign against the Netherlands on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The highly anticipated India versus Pakistan clash is scheduled for October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
