In their first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 10 runs. After this poor start, the team was concentrating on its next match, in the meantime, the team got another big blow.
Star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the entire 13th season of the Indian Premier League as West Indies Test skipper Jason Holder has been named as his replacement in the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad. The management of Sunrisers Hyderabad has officially announced this on social media.
“Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out due to injury. We wish him a speedy recovery. Jason Holder will replace him for #Dream11IPL 2020”, the franchise tweeted.
In his first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mitchell Marsh suffered an injury and due to which he went out of the field.
In the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore earlier this week, Marsh was handed the ball to bowl the fifth over but the all-rounder delivered four balls before twisting his ankle in the second delivery while trying to stop a drive by Aaron Finch.
Later in the game, he did come out to bat at No.10 during SRH’s chase but was out in the first delivery.
After Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of the tournament, Sunrisers Hyderabad has now included West Indies Test captain Jason Holder in their squad. No team had bought him in the auction in IPL 2020. His base price was Rs 75 lakh, while Mitchell Marsh was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 2 crore.
Jason Holder is going to make a comeback after 3 years in the IPL. Earlier, Holder played his last match in 2016. His record in IPL is not that special. He has scored 38 runs in just 5 innings at an average of 7.6. Recently Jason Holder took 10 wickets in 10 matches in the Caribbean Premier League. It will be good to see him playing from SRH’s squad.
