The star wicket-Keeper batsman of England, Jos Buttler has lauded South Africa’s captain and wicket-Keeper batsman, Quinton de Kock, ahead of his team’s limited-overs tour to the country.

England will take on South Africa in three ODIs and as many T20Is from November 27 to December 9. Quinton de Kock and Jos Buttler are both wicket-Keeper batsman and open for their team. Meanwhile, Buttler heaped praises on South Africa’s captain and wicket-Keeper batsman and labelled himself as ‘huge fan’ of him.

“I’m a huge fan of his,” Jos Buttler told reporters on Monday before the England squad left for Cape Town.

He further called de Kock a ‘fantastic’ player and appreciated his viewpoint towards the game.

“He is a fantastic player with an excellent cricket brain. I really enjoy how he views the game and looks to take it on.

“He is one of my favourite players in the world at the moment, and is brilliant with the bat and as a wicketkeeper.”

Both Quinton de Kock and Jos Buttler were in the UAE and were playing for Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals respectively.

Further speaking on the upcoming series, Buttler said that England would look to win the series and try to build up momentum for the upcoming two T20 World Cups in 2021 and 2022.

At the same time, he also feels that winning will help the players in getting some confidence and clarity.

“To win the series is the ultimate aim, but also building towards the World Cups. In 50-over cricket we did that, winning and learning at the same time ahead of the (2019) tournament.

“Winning gives you confidence and clarity about your side. The 50-over team (that won the World Cup) nearly picked itself towards the end of that cycle.

“That gives you a lot of confidence, you are familiar with your own role and what to expect from your teammates,” Jos Buttler said.
