ENG vs IND: Team India is currently in England for the upcoming 5-Test match series, starting from 4 August, 2021. They were allowed to leave the bio-bubble for 20 days for a break after the World Test Championship Final. The BCCI approved their departure from the bubble with the instruction that the players and the support staff should enter the bubble again mid-July ahead of their five-Test series against England.
However, recently it has been reported that an Indian player has tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently in home isolation at his relatives’ place. Meanwhile, reports are coming that Rishabh Pant is the player who has tested positive for the deadly virus.
According to Sports Tak, Rishabh Pant tested positive for COVID-19 around a week ago and now he is asymptomatic and recovering well. The Indian wicket-keeper batsman will be tested on 18th July again as he’ll complete his 10 days isolation on Sunday.
Earlier, speaking to ANI, the sources said that the player was asymptomatic and only minor cold and cough were there when they had gone for their RT-PCR tests.
“Luckily, there is nothing to worry as one of the players has already returned negative since testing positive, the other player will be tested on Sunday and is currently in isolation. He is asymptomatic as well and we are confident that he can join the camp soon after negative reports,” the source said.
As the Indian contingent returned from a break, the source speaking to ANI added that regular testing has been done and all the other players were fine. The team will assemble on Thursday, July 15 in Durham to prepare for the three-day warm-up game starting July 20.
The five-match Test series against England will begin at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on August 4.
