India Recover After Early Wickets
India started the day positively, with KL Rahul and Jaiswal putting on a solid opening stand. They looked in full control, especially Rahul, who struck beautiful boundaries off Brydon Carse and Josh Tongue. Jaiswal too played fluently, starting his innings with a classy drive off Chris Woakes.
However, just before lunch, England bounced back. Rahul was dismissed for 42, followed immediately by debutant B Sai Sudharsan, who was out for a duck. India went into lunch at 92 for 2, with Jaiswal holding one end firm.
Jaiswal’s Comeback After Pre-Tour Struggles
Jaiswal’s hundred is special considering he didn’t perform well in the practice games against England Lions. He had struggled outside the off-stump in those matches, often chasing balls in the corridor. But in this Test, he showed patience, leaving balls well and punishing the bad ones with confidence.
