Smriti Mandhana Becomes Second Indian Woman to Cross 7,000 Runs in International Cricket

Former captain Mithali Raj was the first one Indian to achieve this milestone before Smriti Mandhana.

Smriti Mandhana etched her name in history by becoming the second Indian woman cricketer to complete 7000 international runs. The left-handed batter joins legendary captain Mithali Raj in this elite club.

Overall, she is only the sixth batter in history to score 7,000 runs in women’s international cricket. Smriti Mandhana is one of the finest batters to don a blue jersey and has been the backbone of the team across formats.

Smriti Mandhana achieved this feat during the first ODI of the three-match series against South Africa at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The stylish Indian opener is well aware of the playing conditions at Bengaluru as she plays for RCB in WPL.

The Indian women’s cricket team is currently locked in a multi-format series against South Africa, running from June 16 to July 9. The series kicked off with the first of three ODIs at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, followed by a one-off Test match and three T20Is in Chennai.
