Which RCB Players Are Ruled Out of Remaining IPL 2025?

RCB face a major setback as several key players are ruled out or doubtful for the remainder of IPL 2025.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to resume their IPL 2025 campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 17 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. But just before the restart, the team has been hit by multiple player unavailability issues, making their road to playoffs even more difficult.

RCB’s Availability Concerns Ahead of IPL Resumption

RCB have had a strong season so far, but the sudden break in the tournament and national commitments of several players have created trouble for the team. As per reports, seven RCB players might miss the remaining matches of the season due to injuries or international duties.

Josh Hazlewood has returned to Australia due to a shoulder niggle and won’t return for the rest of the IPL.

Devdutt Padikkal has already been ruled out earlier in the season. Rajat Patidar is dealing with a finger injury he picked up during the game against CSK. He might only be available as an Impact Player in the coming games.

Romario Shepherd, Phil Salt, Jacob Bethell, and Liam Livingstone are expected to miss some matches due to national duties. West Indies and England will begin a 3-match ODI series from May 29, which may clash with IPL games and restrict their availability.

These player exits will surely hurt the team’s balance and combinations, especially when they are just a few steps away from securing a playoff spot.

What RCB Needs To Qualify for IPL 2025 Playoffs?

RCB have three league matches remaining. To stay in the top four, they must win at least one game and reach 18 points. Two or more wins will keep them in the race for a top-two finish. However, if they lose all remaining games, they will end with 16 points and must depend on other teams’ results and Net Run Rate (NRR) to qualify.

With several first-choice players missing, RCB’s playoff path has become tricky. It will be a big test for their bench strength and team strategy in the final stretch of the tournament.
