During the fifth T20I of the recently concluded England’s tour of West Indies in Barbados, West Indies beat England by 17 runs to win the series 3-2 following a fantastic performance from Jason Holder with the ball.

The all-rounder produced an excellent spell of bowling ending up with a double hattrick and helping West Indies win the final T20I match and the series.

The lanky pacer became the first West Indies bowler to pick a hat-trick in T20Is. Following this mind-blowing spell, he joined Rashid Khan, Curtis Campher, and Lasith Malinga as the only men’s cricketers to achieve the feat of four-in-four in T20Is. He ended up with bowling figures of 5/27 and won the Player of the Series, along with the Player of the Match award for his 15 wickets in the series.

“A classic finish wasn’t the best start, but I just wanted to stay in the game. Did not work well yesterday, but was totally the opposite tonight. I was a bit disappointed with the no-ball, I look to be disciplined, but then to get the next five balls perfectly was nice.

“Was just pumped up, I love to play at Kensington Oval, we’ve the best fans in the world, credit to the English fans for coming in as well. A lot of hard work, can improve on my death bowling, add some variations. But I’m gaining confidence and so is the captain in me,” said Holder after the game.

In the final over of the match, when England needed 20 runs to win, Holder removed Chris Jordan, Sam Billings, Adil Rashid, and Saqib Mahmood off consecutive deliveries.

The tall pacer started the over with no ball followed by dismissal of Chris Jordan and Sam Billings with his second and third deliveries of the over. Holder then had Adil Rashid taken at deep square leg by Odean Smith before ending the match with the wicket of Saqib Mahmood, with both batsmen getting out for golden ducks.
