Waqar Younis Played For India? ICC Made A Huge Blunder In YouTube Post
In a video posted on ICC's website, in an goof-up, legendary Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis' team has been written as India.
Pakistan legendary pacer Waqar Younis was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2013. Younis Khan, one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time, was a constant threat to opposing batsmen throughout his illustrious career.
Recently, International Cricket Council (ICC) paid tribute to the Pakistan legend as part of their ‘Meet the ICC Hall of Famers‘ series. Thy posted a video on his cricketing career but made a huge blunder as under Waqar Younis’ name, it mentioned he played for India.
Not just the video, the thumbnail or the graphic of the video showed the same on the front even if the viewer had not watched the video, it was evidently visible.
The blunder was quickly noticed by fans on social media and they started trolling the ICC for the same. Here are some of the reactions:
Younis, who made his Pakistan debut against the West Indies in 1989, went on to become one of the greatest fast bowlers in the world. The legendary Wasim Akram and the former speedster established a formidable bowling partnership, and the pair won numerous matches for Pakistan together.
Younis played 87 Tests and 262 ODIs in his glorious international career. He picked up 373 and 416 wickets in the two formats respectively. He remains the second-highest wicket-taker of all time in ODIs for Pakistan and is placed third on the list of highest wicket-takers in the history of ODI. Only Wasim Akram (502) and Sri Lanka legend Muttiah Muralitharan (534) picked up more wickets than Younis in ODI cricket.
