IPL 2024 – Match 6: Faf du Plessis to drop Rajat Patidar? RCB Probable Playing 11 vs PBKS

Virat Kohli seeks a turnaround after a disappointing performance in the last match.

The sixth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will see the Punjab Kings (PBKS) touring the Garden City to play the local team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru(RCB), at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on March 25, Monday.

Despite losing their first game to the Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk, it doesn’t look like Bengaluru are going to make any substantial changes to their side.

Probable Playing 11 of RCB:

At Chepauk, the RCB skipper started from where he left off in the last season, racing to 35 before being caught by Rachin Ravindra, who took a fantastic grab. On the other end, Virat Kohli took his time, but when the time came for acceleration, he was outdone by Mustafizur Rahman.

Going forward in the tournament, Kohli will have to keep an eye on his approach because at Chinnaswamy, no total is safe, so he needs to ensure he doesn’t get stuck at the crease.

Rajat Patidar’s poor run with the bat continues. Patidar at the crease looked confused or rather frustrated, which was also evident in the recently concluded Test Series.

He needs to sort out his mindset; otherwise, his barren run may continue. Bengaluru will expect him to find form soon because Patidar at his best makes batting look nothing but poetry.

Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green both disappointed their admirers with the willow, but it was more due to the sluggish deck at Chepauk. Both of them should enjoy the short boundaries and the flat pitches at Chinnaswamy.

Dinesh Karthik and Anuj Rawat amongst runs would have pleased the management. Karthik is most probably in his last season, so he will look to end on a high, whereas with Rawat, it will be a challenge to keep churning out these scores with consistency.

The fast bowling department of Bengaluru showed no control with their lines and lengths, which helped the CSK batters to score runs with ease.

Mohammad Siraj and Alzarri Joseph will try to be effective so that Bengaluru gets wickets up front in the Powerplay, whereas the spinners will need to be at their best because of the small ground dimensions.

If Bengaluru bats first, Yash Dayal will be their Impact player, and if they bowl, it will be Dinesh Karthik.

Probable Playing XI of RCB vs PBKS:

Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (C), Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat (WK), Mayank Dagar, Karn Sharma, Alzarri Joseph, Mohammad Siraj.

Impact Player: Yash Dayal
