Afghanistan Cricket Board Lifts Bans, Clears Path for Naveen, Mujeeb, and Fazalhaq Farooqi in Foreign Leagues
Afghanistan Cricket Board imposed a ban on these three players, prohibiting their involvement in foreign leagues.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board, on Monday, January 8, revoked the ban on Fazalhaq Farooqi, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Mujeeb Ur Rehman, allowing them to participate in foreign leagues.
Earlier, the Afghanistan Cricket Board imposed a ban on these three players, prohibiting their involvement in foreign leagues, a decision made due to their prioritisation of foreign leagues over national duties.
Taking to Twitter, the Afghanistan Cricket Board made an announcement, accompanied by a caption:
“The ACB has modified the previously imposed sanctions on three national players which will allow them to receive central contracts and participate in franchise leagues while ensuring their full commitment to national duties and ACB’s interests.”
This development relieves IPL franchises like Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Lucknow Super Giants, who have signed these three Afghanistan players.
While Farooqi plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Super Giants have retained Naveen-ul-Haq. The two-time champions signed Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman in the IPL 2024 mini-auction.
