For the second time in the Asia Cup 2023, the blockbuster clash between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan was interrupted by rain, this time in Colombo on Sunday, September 10.
India, led by Rohit Sharma, were at 147 for two in 24.1 overs when rain arrived, forcing a halt to the game at Colombo’s renowned R Premadasa Stadium.
After an extended wait during which the rain did not relent, the day was called off, with the remainder of the match scheduled to resume on the reserve day.
While the rain briefly paused and the ground crew worked on drying the pitch, an endearing moment was captured on camera when fans were brought to dry up the pitch.

However, the rain was stubborn as it kept coming after short breaks and did not let the pitch dry, which eventually led to the day being called off. India will resume batting on Monday with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul at crease.
