Chennai Super Kings have been going through a tough time in IPL 2025. They have managed to win only two out of their nine matches so far and are struggling at the bottom of the points table.
Curran, too, didn’t get many chances earlier in the tournament. This was only his fourth match of the season, but he made sure to make it count.
During his innings, one moment grabbed everyone’s attention. After reaching his fifty, Curran did a telephone celebration. Fans on social media quickly connected this gesture as a possible dig at Punjab Kings, his former franchise.
The celebration has now become a talking point among cricket lovers.
At the time of writing, Chennai Super Kings were 160 for 4 in 16 overs, with Sam Curran batting on 81 runs off just 39 balls and still going strong.
