My Son Says When Virat Kohli Bats, Just Wake Me Up: Michael Vaughan
Michael Vaughan revealed that his son was a huge fan of Virat Kohli and also said that he is doubtful about India's victory in the last three test matches in Indian skipper's absence.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan revealed his son’s obsession with Virat Kohli. Vaughan said that his son is a huge fan of ‘genius’ Virat Kohli and always asks Vaughan to wake him up when the Indian skipper comes out to bat.
“My little boy is a little player and all he does is, always says to me, when Virat comes out to bat, just wake me up. As soon as Virat goes out getting caught at midwicket, he goes back inside to do something else. He’s that powerful with the kids,” Michael Vaughan told Cricbuzz.
“When you see shots like that fly off the middle of the bat without any real effort or doesn’t seem like any much effort going into the stroke – it’s just flying into the stands. He’s a special player, he’s an absolute genius,”he added.
Vaughan further labelled Kohli as the ‘best of the era’ across all the three formats of game. The former England skipper believes that Virat Kohli is a ‘wonderful’ player when it comes to batting and there is no reason for anyone to worry about India skipper’s lean patch with centuries.
“The one thing I don’t worry about with Virat Kohli is his batting. There is no concern about his batting whatsoever. He is a wonderful player, he’s the best of the era across the formats, there are no doubts about that,” Vaughan said.
I Worry About Three Tests That India Have Without Virat Kohli: Michael Vaughan
Vaughan, speaking on the upcoming Test series between Australia and India, said that he is doubtful about India winning the three Tests without Virat Kohli. He further said that Kohli is in supreme form and once he gets a hundred, he will go on to get 3-4 more.
Virat Kohli will not play the last three test matches against Australia as he will fly back to India to be with his wife Anushka Sharma who is going to give birth to their first child in January.
“I worry about those three Tests that India have without him. I don’t see India being able to win those Tests without the Virat Kohli factor. He is that important for that Test team. His 100s will come. Once he gets one, probably he would get 3-or-4 together, he’s that good,” Vaughan added.
