West Indies have started their second cycle of World Test Championship on a winning note as they registered one wicket victory over Pakistan in a thriller on Sunday.
Thanks to Kemar Roach’s unbeaten 30 and Jayden Seales‘ efforts in the last as the duo managed to add 17 runs for the last wicket as West Indies chased the target of 168 runs for the loss of nine wickets after wrapping up Pakistan for 203 in their second innings, thanks to Seales’s maiden 5-wicket haul.
With this, Jayden Seales also became the youngest West Indies player to take five wicket haul. Earlier the record was registered on Alf Valentine’s name, who took five wicket haul at the age of 20 back in 1950. Seales is currently 19 years and 340 days old. He was also adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ for his performance.
The second Test match of the 2-Match series will be played from August 20 at Sabina Park.
