Yuvraj Singh rolled back the years as he gave massive fun to his fans at Raipur in the 1st semi-final match of the Road Safety World Series game against West Indies Legends on Wednesday. He smashed four sixes in an over and helped his side post a competitive total at the board.
The southpaw ended up playing an unbeaten knock 49 runs off just 20 balls as he helped India Legends score 218 in 20 overs in the semi-final.
Coming to bat at No 5 Yuvraj Singh needed to go from ball one and the left-hander didn’t disappoint at all. Yuvraj was playing at 10 off 9 balls with India at 178/3 in 18 overs. However, West Indies Legends decided to throw the ball to the leg-spinner Mahendra Nagamootoo. It proved to be a big mistake from the captain, Brian Lara, especially in a semi-final, bowling a legspinner to a left-hander at the death.
Here Are The Highlights:
Yusuf Pathan also chipped in with a vital 20-ball 37 to complement Yuvraj as India Legends ultimately managed to post a massive 218-run total on the scoreboard.
Earlier in the match, India Legends skipper Sachin Tendulkar scored a 36-ball half-century to bolster their run-flow. While Virender Sehwag made full use of the Powerplay, hitting 17-ball 35, Tendulkar accelerated after his opening partner’s departure. Sachin stitched a fifty partnership with Mohammad Kaif.
Earlier in the previous match against South Africa Legends, he did the same. The southpaw smashed four back-to-back sixes off Zander De Bruyn and reminded the fans of his six sixes in the 2007 T20 World Cup against England off Stuart Broad at Kingsmead, Durban.
Yuvraj’s knock of 52* off 22 deliveries guided India Legends to a mammoth 204/3 in the stipulated 20 overs. Sachin Tendulkar-led side won the match by 56 runs by restricting the Jonty Rhodes-led side to 148/7 in the run chase.
