Watch: Ravindra Jadeja’s Special Celebration After Taking 4 Catches Goes Viral

Ravindra Jadeja took four catches in the outfield as the three-time former champions won their second match in succession.

Ravindra Jadeja completely enjoyed his time out on the field on Monday, playing a crucial role as Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by 45 runs.

The CSK all-rounder not only took the big wicket of Jos Buttler, who was set and looking dangerous but also gobbled four catches during the match proving why he is rated as the best fielder in the world.

Jadeja may have failed with the bat on Monday, but he made his presence felt with the ball and on the field, and after he took Jaydev Unadkat’s catch at sweeper cover, he brought out an animated celebration. The CSK star gestured a hilarious phone-call celebration while facing the dug-out.

The 32-year-old Jadeja grabbed his first catch at deep mid-wicket, helping to dismiss Manan Vohra off Sam Curran’s bowl. In the 14th over of Moeen Ali, he caught Riyan Parag’s shot again at deep mid-wicket. In the same over, Jadeja again grabbed another catch and helped Moeen Ali to dismiss Chris Morris. Jadeja’s fourth catch came during the 20th over of Shardul Thakur. He caught Jaydev Unadkat’s shot at a deep backward point.

With his four catches, Ravindra Jadeja equalled the record for most catches taken in an IPL innings. Many others, like Faf du Plessis, Sachin Tendulkar, David Warner etc. have also managed to take four catches in an innings in the past.

Chennai Super Kings Made A Quick Jump To Second Spot

While no batsman made a significant individual score for CSK, cameos from Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo powered them to 188/9.

Rajasthan Royals then suffered an epic collapse in the middle overs, as Jadeja and Moeen Ali shared five wickets between them in the space of four overs and eventually finished at 143/9.

With CSK’s second win on the trot, they make a quick jump to the second spot in the points table with two wins in three games. CSK are just behind table-toppers RCB – who are yet to be defeated this season. The Super Kings would like to continue their good run of form when they take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their next fixture.
