The 26th match of the Indian Premier League 2021 is being played between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl first. Punjab Kings got off to a slow start as they managed only 20 runs in first 4 overs. Their opener Prabhsimran Singh, who replaced Mayank Agarwal in their playing XI departed cheaply after scoring only 7 runs from as many balls.
Chris Gayle Smashes 5 Fours In An Over
In the sixth over of Kyle Jamieson, the Universe Boss once again proved that age is just a number for him. He smashed 5 fours in one over – 4 4 4 4 0 4.
Notably, Punjab Kings was 29 for 1 from 5 overs but thanks to the West Indian legend, Punjab ended the 7th over with score of 64 for 1.
There was no stopping him in the over as he went all across the ground- extra cover, mid-wicket, and long-on.

Chris Gayle Completes 400 Boundaries In IPL
The Universe Boss has also achieved another milestone on Friday while batting against RCB. He completed 400 boundaries in the IPL, the tenth batsman to achieve the landmark.
The first in this tally is Shikhar Dhawan, who has 628 fours under his belt at the time of writing. David Warner and Virat Kohli are second and third in the standings with 525 and 521 boundaries respectively. Suresh Raina is fourth in the table with 502 boundaries in his name while Gautam Gambhir is fifth in the table with 491 fours in his account.
Prithvi Shaw Smashes 6 Fours In An Over
Notably, yesterday Prithvi Shaw of Delhi Capitals smashed 6 fours in an over. The young opener of Delhi Capitals has been in the form of his life off late and the opening batsman just showed the same on Thursday as he smashed six fours in one over in Delhi Capitals’ match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Kolkata Knight Riders gave the ball to Shivam Mavi, Shaw’s 2018 Under-19 teammate and the 21-year old’s eyes lit up and given the target was not that daunting, Shaw had the freedom to go for his shots and he didn’t miss any chance.
In a pursuit to get back on the top of the points table, RCB is locking horns with PBKS today. Punjab has a better head-to-head record against Virat Kohli’s side, and had won both games in the UAE in IPL 2020. Overall, the two teams have played 26 matches in IPL history, with Royal Challengers Bangalore winning 12 matches and Punjab Kings winning 14.
