In a major blow to ‘The Hundred,’ two Australian cricket stars, Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry, have been forced to opt out of the tournament, just before the much-anticipated start of the tournament.
Both players sustained injuries during their tour of Ireland. While wicketkeeper-batter Healy suffered a fresh fracture on her left-hand index finger, which was still healing from a prior injury, all-rounder Perry sustained a knee injury.
Cricket Australia has confirmed that Perry, who was set to captain Birmingham Phoenix, will require four to six weeks of rest and rehabilitation to overcome the injury.
