
Marcus Stoinis smacked an unbeaten 59 off just 18 deliveries as defending champions Australia outclassed Sri Lanka by seven wickets in a must-win match of the Super 12 contest at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, 2022 on Tuesday, October 25 at Perth Stadium.
With this, Stoinis shattered his teammate David Warner’s record by notching up the fastest half-century for Australia in the shortest format of the game in the T20 World Cup. Also, it is the joint-second-fastest fifty in the history of the T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, India’s legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh’s record of the fastest half-century, that he notched up in the T20 World Cup in 2007 against England remains undefeated. He clobbered six sixes to Stuart Broad to score the fastest half-century in the shortest format off just 12 deliveries.
