SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper David Warner has an opportunity to break Royal Challengers Bangalore’s captain Virat Kohli’s massive record in IPL history in the 29th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (October 13) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
David Warner stands only 19 runs short of completing to 5000 runs in IPL. He will become the first overseas batsman to achieve this feat and fourth overall in IPL after RCB’s skipper Virat Kohli, CSK’s Suresh Raina and Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma.
Warner has scored 4981 runs in 133 innings at an average of 42.93, including 46 centuries and 4 fifties in IPL.
With this, Warner will also become the fastest player to score 5000 runs in IPL. In this case, he will break Virat Kohli’s record who completed 5000 runs in 157 innings of his IPL career.
David Warner is at number four in the race of orange cap this season. Warner has scored 275 runs in 7 matches played so far, scoring two half-centuries. Warner has recently become the first player to score 50 or more runs in IPL 50 times.
