Mumbai Indians, the team with the most IPL titles to their name, have had a disappointing start to the current season, winning only three of their seven matches and occupying the seventh spot on the points table at the end of the first half.
The disappointing performance of Mumbai Indians this season can be attributed to several factors, one of which is their lacklustre bowling, which has seen them concede high scores to the opposition on several occasions and struggle to chase them down.
Their investment in the English pacer Jofra Archer has also not paid off, with the speedster failing to make an impact despite being a high-profile acquisition during the mega auction. He has only managed to feature twice for Mumbai Indians this season.
There has been speculation surrounding the absence of Jofra Archer from Mumbai Indians, with rumours suggesting that he has travelled to Belgium for recovery. However, the English pacer has taken to social media to refute these rumours and urged people to stop spreading false information.
Taking to Twitter, here’s what Jofra Archer wrote:
“Putting out an article without knowing the facts & without my consent is crazy.
Whoever the reporter is, shame on you , an already worrying and troubling time for a player and you exploit it for your personal gain, it’s people like you that are the problem.”
It has been reported that Jofra Archer has recuperated from his illness and is fit to play the next match against Mumbai Indians, scheduled for April 13, where Rajasthan Royals will face off against them at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
