The much-awaited auction for the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to take place on December 23 and as many as 991 players have registered for the event.
The BCCI, on December 1, 2022, revealed that out of the 991 registered players, 714 are Indian while 277 are overseas. This includes 185 capped, 786 uncapped, and 20 players from Associate Nations.
Among them, 21 players have marked their base price in the top bracket of INR 2 Crore. Interestingly or rather amusingly, for the first time in the history of IPL auctions, not even a single Indian player is on this list.
The two-time World Cup winner Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, Australia’s young gun Cameron Green, and New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson have listed their base price in the top bracket of INR 2 Crore.
