The 9th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is being played between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. Quinton de Kock along with Rohit Sharma opened the innings for Mumbai and smashed 32 runs off just 25 balls and with this Mumbai Indians’ skipper added another milestone to his cap.
Rohit Sharma, on Saturday while playing against Hyderabad become the fourth Indian to score 4000 runs as captain in T20. He has now 4004 runs under his belt while Virat Kohli (6044) tops the list with 6044 runs.

Well, Hitman has also touched another milestone in Saturday’ game. Rohit, the most successful captain in the history of the IPL has now become the Indian player with the most number of sixes in IPL history. He beat Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni to achieve this feat. While MS Dhoni has 216 sixes in IPL, Rohit sharma now has 217 sixes to his name. Virat Kohli is third in list with 201 sixes. While Suresh Raina and Robin Uthappa are fourth and fifth in the tally with 198 and 163 sixes respectively.
The 33-year old achieved the milestone by hitting a six off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. However, the record of hitting the most sixes in the IPL is still holded by Caribbean batsman Chris Gayle. Gayle has hit 351 sixes in the tournament so far, AB de Villiers is second in the list with 237 sixes under his belt.

As long as match is concerned, Mumbai Indians have won the toss and opts to bat first. Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted 150 runs on the board in the scheduled 20 overs. Quinton de Kock was their highest run score as he smashed 40 runs off 39 deliveries. Kieron Pollard was the second highest scorer for Mumbai as he smashed 35 runs off 22 balls. Rohit Sharma (32 off 25) also contributed well for the team.
Sunrisers Hyderabad now need 151 runs to win. Here it is worth noting that Kane Williamson is again unavailable for the match.
