IPL 2020: MI vs DC, Mumbai Indians Defeated Delhi Capitals by 5 Wickets and Tops the Points Table, Quinton de Kock 12th IPL Fifty

In the 27th match of the 13th season of IPL, Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 5 wickets. Mumbai topped the points table with their fourth consecutive win. Mumbai's Quinton de Kock made his 12th and Suryakumar Yadav's 9th IPL fifty.

In the 27th match of the 13th season of IPL, Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 5 wickets. Mumbai topped the points table with their fourth consecutive win. Mumbai’s Quinton de Kock made his 12th and Suryakumar Yadav’s 9th IPL fifty.

Batting first after winning the toss in the match, Delhi Capitals gave a target of 163 runs. In response, Mumbai chased the target and made 166 runs for 5 wickets in 19.4 overs and won the match by 5 wickets.

Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav Scored 53-53 Each

For Mumbai, chasing the target, opener Quinton de Kock scored and Suryakumar scored 53-53 runs off 36 & 32 deliveries. Apart from these, Ishaan Kishan scored 28 runs off 15 deliveries. 53 runs partnership for the third wicket between Suryakumar and Ishaan. Kagiso Rabada took the most 2 wickets for Delhi. Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin got 1-1 wickets.

85-Run Partnership Between Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan

Delhi Capitals had scored 162 runs for 4 wickets while batting first. The team did not have a good start and Prithvi Shaw was dismissed for 4 runs. Ajinkya Rahane, playing the first match of the season, could not do anything special and was dismissed for 15 runs. Opener Shikhar Dhawan (69 runs) was on the pitch till the end of the innings. He made am 85-run partnership for the third wicket with captain Shreyas Iyer (42 runs).

Dhawan Completed 100 Sixes in IPL

Dhawan hit 38th Fifty in IPL. In this case, he equalled Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina. Dhawan also completed his 100 sixes in the league. Mumbai’s Krunal Pandya took 2 wickets and Trent Boult took 1 wicket in the match.

Man of the Match

Quinton de Kock was awarded man of the Match for his phenomenal inning of 53 runs off 36 deliveries with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Changes in Playing XI

Delhi’s skipper Shreyas Iyer made two changes in the team. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer were dropped. He was replaced by Alex Carrie and Ajinkya Rahane. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma did not make any changes in the playing eleven.
