Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected batting first in the match, Hyderabad scored 142 for 4 wickets thanks to a fifty by Manish Pandey (51).
KKR Register Their First Victory
In response to SRH’s 142 target, KKR suffered an early setback, but young Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 70 runs of 62 balls (5 fours and 2 sixes) and explosive Eoin Morgan’s 42 of 29 balls (3 fours and 2 sixes) helps KKR to attain its target of 143 with 12 balls remaining and win the contest by 7 wickets.
“Million Dollar Baby” Pat Cummins Magic
Bairstow, who played well in the last match for Hyderabad, could score only 5 runs in this match. Pat Cummins bowled him at the last ball of fourth.
Varun Chakraborty, popularly known as Mystery Spinner in the team, gave the second blow to Hyderabad by sending David Warner back to the pavilion. Warner scored 36 off 30 balls. His innings included 2 fours and a six.
Sluggish batting in Middle Overs
Manish Pandey and Wriddhiman Saha shared a 62-run partnership, but both of them failed to score in a quick manner. Kolkata captain Dinesh Karthik pipped Andre Russell very late in the match. Russell, who came to bowl for the first time in the 18th over, dismissed Manish Pandey on the fourth ball of the same over.
Saha tried hard in the last but could not do much for his team. He was run out on the second ball of the last over. Saha scored 30 runs off 31 balls with the help of a four and a six.
