Shreyas Iyer, on Sunday, December 4 became the second-highest run-scorer for team India in One-day internationals.
The right-hander batter accomplished the feat when he came to bat at number 4 in the ongoing first ODI against Bangladesh.

Courtesy of this knock, Iyer now has 639 runs in 13 ODI innings this year. Senior Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan leads this tally with 677 runs.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill stands third in the list, who has scored 638 runs from 12 ODI innings this year.

As long as the match is concerned, Bangladesh captain Litton Das won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Bangladesh bowlers justified their captain’s choice by churning out early wickets to push the visitors on backfoot.
Shikhar Dhawan (7), Rohit Sharma (27), and Virat Kohli (9) failed to provide the team with a stable start. The onus is on KL Rahul and others to save the sinking ship of Men in Blue.
