IND vs AUS: India’s young opener batsman, Prithvi Shaw is in Australia with his other fellow players for the upcoming battle against Australia. Recently, he shared a video on his social media handle in which he can be seen batting alongside captain Virat Kohli.
Notably, Shaw has not been included in the ODI and T20I Squads and only included in the Test Squad.
Sharing a video on his social media, Shaw wrote:
“Back to Australia after almost a year, time to work hard and play harder.” Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav can also be seen bowling in the video.
The 21-year-old was also part of the Indian Test team during the 2018-19 tour, but later he was ruled out due to an ankle injury during a practice game against Cricket Australia XI.
Prithvi Shaw had recently featured in the just-concluded Indian Premier League, where he played 13 games and failed to make an impact for Delhi Capitals. He only accumulated 228 runs in 13 games at an average of 17.53 with two fifties.
The Thane-born started his career in Rajkot in 2018 against West-Indies where he batted brilliantly and smashed 134 runs. He played his second match in Hyderabad in the same year before playing his other two matches this year in New Zealand. In New Zealand, he scored a single fifty from his 4 outings.
Virat Kohli led side has already reached Australia where they are currently serving a mandatory 14-day quarantine. However, Cricket Australia has made special arrangements for the players to indulge in outdoor training activities near their base in Sydney.
The tour begins on November 27 when India face Australia in first of three ODIs, which will be followed by as many T20Is. The first Test match will be played in Adelaide from December 17.
