Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar in Line for India A Call-Up as BCCI Aligns Squads for England Tour
India combines India A and Test squads for England tour to ensure better preparation before June 20 series opener

India’s selectors are not looking at the India A and senior Test squads as two different groups anymore. With a busy schedule and very little time before the England Test series begins on June 20, they have decided to treat both squads as one extended unit.
According to revsportz, Many players from the senior Test team are expected to play for India A in the lead-up to the series. This will help them get used to English conditions and also give them some much-needed match practice. The two four-day games between India A and the England Lions will act as unofficial warm-up matches before the real action begins.
This change in strategy comes mainly because of the tight schedule. The Indian Premier League (IPL) will end just days before the Test series starts, leaving hardly any room for a proper preparation camp. By combining the squads, selectors hope that the players will get enough time in the middle and adjust to the English pitches and weather quickly.
Some of the main Test players may even travel to England early, depending on their IPL commitments. If their teams don’t make it to the final stages of the IPL, they could fly out sooner and join the India A camp.
At the same time, this is a big chance for some youngsters who have been doing well in domestic cricket. Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Rajat Patidar, and Anshul Kamboj are among the top names in the mix for the India A squad. These matches could be very important for them, not just to gain experience but also to push their case for a Test call-up in the future.
The focus is clearly on giving players maximum game time before a big overseas series. And with England known for its tricky conditions, every ball faced or bowled in these warm-up games will count.
