The World Cup 2023 schedule was revealed last month, but issues surrounding the dates persist. Notably, the India versus Pakistan match has reportedly been moved to 14 October, and there are now reports of the Cricket Association of Bengal urging the Board of Control for Cricket in India to reschedule the Pakistan vs England match, which was initially scheduled to be played at Eden Gardens on November 12, citing Kali Puja.
As per a report of RevSportz, the Cricket Association of Bengal has been informed by the Kolkata police about possible security challenges during the Pakistan versus England match due to the coinciding date with the Kali Puja celebrations, prominently celebrated in Bengal, particularly in Kolkata.
Notably, the India versus Pakistan match faced a rescheduling due to the same security concerns, as it coincided with the first day of the Navratri festival in Ahmedabad, where the celebration is widespread.
The International Cricket Council (ICC), will soon release an updated schedule as apparently few other games involving other teams would also be rescheduled.
