Gautam Gambhir Sets Three Major Conditions for Accepting India Head Coach Role

Gautam Gambhir is the front-runner for the head coach role of Team India.

The tenure of Rahul Dravid as the head coach of Team India will end after the T20 World Cup 2024, and the BCCI has already begun interviews with potential candidates to replace him.

According to reports, Gautam Gambhir appeared before the BCCI for an interview to succeed Rahul Dravid as the head coach of Team India. It is believed that Gambhir has emerged as the frontrunner for this role.

There are now reports that Gautam Gambhir, likely to become the head coach of Team India, has made certain demands to the BCCI, including full control over the team. Additionally, he is proposing separate teams for different formats, each with its own captain.

Interestingly, this concept was widely discussed when Rahul Dravid was taking over as head coach of Team India, but it did not materialize as Rohit Sharma eventually became the captain across all formats.

Gautam Gambhir, known for his sharp cricketing acumen, aims to nurture Team India and end their World Cup trophy drought. However, with WV Raman also in contention for the same role, it remains to be seen whom the BCCI will appoint.
