New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Jamieson, on Sunday scripted history in World Test Championship as he picked up a five-wicket haul to restrict India, which were once cruising at 146-3, to 217 all-out. He was considered as the major threat to the Indian batsmen and on Sunday at the Rose Bowl, he showed just why.
Kyle Jamieson claimed figures of 3/41 as he broke the back of India’s batting unit with big fishes in his net, including that of his Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli, opener Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.
Dismissing Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah in successive deliveries after lunch helped him grab his five-wicket haul, only his fifth in an eight-Test career, all of which have come during the course of this World Test Championship. With this, Kyle Jamieson has now overtaken the joint-record holders Ravichandran Ashwin, Nathan Lyon and Axar Patel.
