Left-handed batsman David Wiley wrote, “Thank you for all the kind messages. My wife & I received positive COVID test results. Gutted to be missing the remaining games. Even more, devastated that having been in contact with the other 3 lads Sat morning (before we had symptoms) means they’re at risk & unavailable too.
The 30-year-old last played for the England team in the ODI series against Ireland last month. He has played 49 ODIs and 28 T20 Internationals for England so far in his career. At the same time, his career in domestic cricket has been long and he has played 71 First-Class matches and 132 List A matches for different teams. Willey has taken 60 wickets in ODIs and 34 wickets in T20 cricket.
Earlier, Yorkshire Cricket Club announced that David Wiley, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Josh Poysden and Matthew Fisher would miss their remaining Vitality Blast Group matches.
The county club tweeted, ” YCCC can confirm that Matthew Fisher, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Josh Poysden and David Willey will be unavailable for the remaining Vitality Blast group matches after a positive COVID test was received.
