David Warner’s wife Candice Warner, on Thursday, revealed that their middle child, Indi-Rae’s favourite cricketer is not her dad or anyone from team Australia but Team India captain Virat Kohli.
In a recent Radio Show, Candice Warner opened up on now her Middle child Indi-Rae wants to be like Virat Kohli while playing cricket in the backyard of their home.
David Warner and Candice Warner have three daughters–Ivy-Mae (6), Indi-Rae (4) and Isla Rose (1).
“We do play a little bit of backyard cricket. The funny thing is my girls, sometimes they wanna be dad, sometimes they wanna be Finchy (Aaron Finch) but my middle child, she wants to be Virat Kohli. And I am not even joking, her favourite player is Virat Kohli. She is the rebel,” Candice told a Sydney-based radio station.
Candice also revealed that David Warner maintains his competitive spirit even when he’s playing cricket with his daughters in the home.
“The kids blow up because he bowls bouncers to them and they are only like 6 and 4. They are like ‘dad no bouncers or don’t spin the ball’. The sledging still happens in the backyard,” Candice said.
David Warner was leading SunRisers Hyderabad in the just-concluded Indian Premier League. Warner played brilliantly in the league and once again crossed the 500-run mark. He was the third-highest run-scorer of the tournament with 548 runs in 16 matches at an average of 39.14 with 4 half-centuries to his name.
Currently, he is under quarantine in Sydney and will be seen playing against India in the upcoming series.
Warner’s daughter will get to see or even meet Kohli very soon if the families will be allowed inside the stadiums in the upcoming ODI series between Australia and India. The two teams will lock horns from November 27 in 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is and 4 Tests.
Team India has reached Sydney on November 12 and is serving mandatory 14-day quarantine. However, they are allowed to do training in the quarantine.
Team India captain Virat Kohli will be returning back to India after the Adelaide Test to attend the birth of his first child which is expected to arrive in January.
