IPL 2024: Virat Kohli Becomes First Indian Cricketer to Score 100 Fifty-Plus Scores in T20 Cricket
Virat Kohli is now overall the third international cricketer to score 100 fifty plus scores in T20 cricket.
In a masterclass of batting, Virat Kohli, the elegant right-handed RCB batter, notched up a sensational fifty against Punjab Kings, laying down the gauntlet for the run chase in the recent IPL 2024 match. He scored 77 runs from just 49 deliveries, punctuated by 11 boundaries and two towering maximums.
This was Kohli’s 100th fifty-plus score in T20 cricket. He’s now the first Indian to hit this milestone, and only the third international player to pull it off. Chris Gayle tops the charts with the most 50-plus scores in T20s, hitting them in 110 matches, with David Warner just behind him at 109.
Kohli’s sitting pretty in third place, reaching the milestone in his 100th match. This comes as an answer to those who doubted his place in the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
